Like a machine they'll fix you from the start, I'm in repair

I have been quite the delinquent blogger this week. Every night I have had a commitment of some sort, which has been super fun but the result has been little time left to write. Another result of being so busy this week (and having to put together different cute outfits for each event) is that my room is now covered in the clothes that I wore, as well as all of the outfits that were tried on and rejected.
This morning I woke up in my treacherous bedroom and tripped over two pairs of shoes on my way to brush my teeth. My bedroom is a disaster. Seriously. It looks like my closet threw up. It's not dirty (I'm far too OCD for that)...it's just messy. And there IS a difference. Part of the problem is that my room is far too small to house all of my belongings. I am a self professed shopaholic, plus I work in the fashion industry, which is deadly because it means that I have access to copious amounts of clothing and accessories at discounted prices and no willpower. I have a closet full of DC shoes and that's just the beginning. I've lived in my modest, little place for almost a year and a half, and what I have accumulated over that time is absolutely insane. Unless I can get one of those closets that Cher Horowitz has in the movie Clueless installed, I need to do a massive overhaul. It's time to purge my closets! I have such a tough time getting rid of clothes though, because I just miss them so much.
It's my project today to get organized. I'm going to sort through the piles of clothes, shoes, boots, magazines, and handbags. I'm going to make some decisions about what to keep and what to toss. Maybe I'll find some things I forgot that I had because they've been buried for so long. And then it's laundry time! This could take all day.

I need to do an overhaul too! Sometimes purging old wardrobe items can make you feel like you have a fresh start...this is the perfect time to do it, going into fall. Plus you will have room for new stuff! Hope your organizing day was a success!

Oh, I so need to do some throwing away of my own. I have amassed such a pile of junk since I got here in Japan. It is honestly amazing how much crap you can gather in six years -- and how hard it gets to put things away when you live in an apartment the size of a walk in closet.

I can never throw away clothes especially. And computer parts. I always recycle shirts with lots of holes into PJs, and then eventually into rags. Stuff I never wear just sits there because "I might change my mind and want to wear this one day!"

Ugh.

I do the same thing with the "might want to wear this one day"...and it seems like every time I get rid of something, I have a desire to wear it again shortly after! But I must say, 'mission purging the closet' was successful this week- I have managed to clear some space and am actually parting ways with a few things.
