Everywhere you look...

I haven't talked fashion here much lately, and being that I'm fresh from viewing the upcoming styles for next winter, I feel inspired. Today, I'd like to highlight a little lady who I think has exquisite personal style: Ashley Olsen (no eye rolling, please). As a former intern to one of my favourite designers, ZacPosen, it is obvious that this budding fashionista takes her cues from the best. I happen to think that Ashley is absolutely adorable and although the twins have been known to go overboard at times, I think she almost always looks cute. Admired for founding the luxury brand The Row, Ashley Olsen is a designer, entrepreneur, actress and style icon, not to mention one of the most influential young women in the fashion and entertainment industries. The Row, launched in 2006, was quickly picked up by high end retailers globally. Following on the heels of its success, Ashley ventured with her sister Mary-Kate into the contemporary market with the Elizabeth and James brand. Ashley was recently named "Fashion's New It Girl" by Harper's Bazaar.

The twins are currently writing a coffee table book together called Influence that will feature artists and fashion designers who have inspired them, as well as exclusive photographs and never-before-seen materials.

Oh, and despite someone's thoughts about the return of skinny jeans, I happen to like them- and Ashley certainly knows how to wear 'em. They've become a trademark for her, along with sunglasses, button up shirts, big scarves, designer bags, fun footwear and huge Starbucks coffee cups.

I suppose it makes sense that my "style idols" are women whose outfits I am envious of on a regular basis, whose clothes I would wear myself. That being said, Ashley Olsen fits into that category like a glove.

I like most of her looks, as she almost always looks well put together. I dig her 'bohemian chic' look the best. And with a tiny little body like that, she can wear almost anything, and still look good.

That is my definition of a style icon as well! In fact, I just wrote such a post about someone today. Only I guess mostly I want to wear this girl's attitude and tattoos. :)

Ashley looks good sometimes, but atrocious others, although not as bad as MK. I just cannot get over skinny girls in huge clothes. It isn't cute or even comfy. I would feel so uncomfortable swimming in huge things.

You chose some great pics of her though and I loved reading about her in that Nylon issue. I think you post actually inspired me to rock a really great outfit tomorrow for no reason at all. I'll try to post it!

Girl sure does love her coffee. And she has some good cool choices in clothes. Ashley looks great in a couple of those photos but for me, she is always gonna be that little, cute girl I watched for so long in 'Full House' singing "I'm a tea pot, short & stout".

While I like her style in some of those photos, most of the time, I think she looks horrendous. I wouldn't be caught in probably 90% of what she wears. It's just not y style.

She needs to gain a good 20 lbs so she doesn't look like a stick.

I agree with you on that one, Tawcan.

I like her clothes for sure, but I still look at those photos and see a little girl playing dress up. Don't hate me for saying that :(

P.S. I just noticed what you titled the post. Golden, baby!

No hate, Keira :) Plus, I'm not gonna lie, although I love most of her outfits, there's a part of me that can't help thinking of "Michelle Tanner" when I look at her.

I love that fringed dress. And I appreciate that she does her own thing fashion-wise. She's not a follower.

Thank you for this little run down on the Ashley. I love her, I think she's the best dressed woman on earth...she never makes a mistake and thinks about every outfit!

You know, as soon as I saw that it was Ashley, I was like "OMG, I'm gonna have to skip this post of Jennifer, I hate the Olsens". Then I re-read it, and saw the photographs again... hmmm, my "hate" was unwarranted. She is indeed fashionable. I think I just hate the whole media hype about anorexia and issues and stuff. But I do like her style.
